Stay Touching Me

কবিতা – “আমাকে ছুঁয়ে থাকো” – রাহুল অরুণোদয়

ভাবানুবাদ
গৌতম চক্রবর্তী

Stay touching me, like an afternoon spent in waiting.
The sky may cry now and then—
Is the splash of mud not just a rumour of someone’s sorrow?
Stay touching me, the way clouds touch grief.
Why not think of sunlight as a page?
This story of light and shadow is so delicate.
Stay touching me, the way melody touches a song.
Like a hidden wound, I’ve kept you concealed—do you know?
I’ve fled far away, saving myself from the contagion of your smile.
Stay touching me, the way a kiss touches lips.
Let everything that astonishes brush against a blink.
Let scattered tales gathered create a grand union of moments.
Stay touching me, the way foolish courage touches fire.
Across the common room of the heart,
Fireflies rent their little homes.
I don’t understand months—I only understand spring at the book fair.
Stay touching me, the way a child’s touch gives birth to scenes.
On that colorful bridge, heavy traffic is forbidden.
In the night’s stars whirls round the god of images.
Stay touching me, the way no one touches me anymore these days.
Ah, life! What it is!
